The Club hosted a number of the Gents finals today with the course in excellent condition and signs today that summer has now arrived.
Chris Ruane edged out Iain Campbell in a thrilling match to win the Gents Matchplay Championship.
Iain battled back from dormi 3 down to square the match at 18 before eventually losing on the 2nd extra hole, with Chris completed a seasons 'double' having claimed the Club Championship last month.
To win both is a tremendous achievement and our congratulations goes to Chris and to Iain for making the final such a spectacle.
The McIntyre Shield Singles and Durkin Trophy 4 ball finals were also contested today with both matches eventually settled at the 16th with 3&2 victories.
Lewis Ingram played some excellent golf and defeated Ross MacDonald in a evenly fought match and in the Fourball Chris Hudspith and Peter Sullivan made a fast start against Stewart McIver and John Thomson who pushed their opponents hard but ran out of holes with some quality golf on show by both pairings as they baked in the sunshine.
The Club had a great atmosphere today with many Ladies finals out on the course as well (more to follow from our Lady Captain). Well done to all of our competitors for making it to their respective finals and for the sporting manner every match was played in.
